Summer time is always a popular time for weddings and this year was no different. The date of my first big wedding of the summer I was also scheduled to participate in the "Warrior Dash", a 5k run/obstacle course in Barre, MA. The wedding was scheduled for 2:00 in Methuen so it made my dash a little more urgent, but something I was definitely looking forward to. My commitment that day was of course to the happy couple but also to the children who are patients at St. Jude's Hospital - which I referred to as Kathy's Warriors! I raised nearly $500 for them. Equally important was making it through the dash without breaking or spraining anything (think boot camp, crawling through mud and trenches, scaling 15 ft. walls - straight up, jumping through fire and crawling through what felt like cement, just to name a few of the obstacles!) My last challenge was making it back home to get the remainder of mud off of me and get ready for the wedding! I'm happy to say, I completed without so much as a scratch and made it to the wedding on time! Great day!
I've had weddings at some beautiful locals as well, Halibut Point in Rockport, Maudsley State Park in Newbury, Essex Convention Center (don't let the name fool you, it's gorgeous!) in Essex, Chandler Hovey Park in Marblehead, the Steven's Estate in North Andover and the Stevens Coolidge Estate (in the gardens), North Andover - just to name a few. Looking forward to the upcoming fall weddings! Cheers!
